What Is A Mailing?

A mailing is when you send out your new headshots and resumes to agencies and potential clients along with a cover letter, telling them your interest in being represented by, or working with them. This letter should have information about your age range, sex, goals and how you found out about them.

SAMPLE LETTER:

To: Uptown Talent

Dear Liz Marks,

Enclosed are a few of my new headshots and resumes. I am very interested in your agency. I have heard that you are the best in the area for representation. I am 21 years old and have been acting for most of my life. I live in Richmond, Va. and got your name from Maguire Neblett Photography. Please let me know if you are interested in working together. I will send you more headshots, but would love to meet you in person. I look forward to hearing from you. (804)225-0020.

You may not always get a response right away, or ever. A "follow up" call after a few weeks is always a good idea. Ask them if they received your headshots and if they would like to meet you.
